How to play Songbird: key, chords and progression

Songbird by Electric Light Orchestra keeps coming home to G major (one sharp: F♯). You need 11 chords: G, Bm, C, D#, A, Cm, D7, Cm7, D, Em and F.

Listen for C – D# – G – A (IV – ♭VI – I – II in G major): the song comes back to it again and again. Once these 4 changes are comfortable, most of the song is done.

Good to know: Bm, D#, Cm, Cm7 and F are played as barre or movable shapes on guitar. Practise the change into them slowly; on piano and ukulele the same chords are easier.
