How to play Valentines Day: key, chords and progression

Valentines Day by GUITAR: LANY is built around G major (one sharp: F♯), with 5 chords in all: G, Am, C, D and Em.

Listen for C – D – Em – C (IV – V – vi – IV in G major): the song comes back to it again and again. In solfa, that is fah – soh – lah – fah. Once these 4 changes are comfortable, most of the song is done.

Beginner-friendly: on guitar every chord is an open shape, which makes this a good song to learn early on.
