How to play Me And I: key, chords and progression

Me And I by Supermunk keeps coming home to D major (two sharps: F♯, C♯). You need 9 chords: E, G, Csus2, Dsus2, Esus2, Gsus2, F#sus2, C#sus2 and A.

The backbone of the song is Dsus2 – Esus2 – Gsus2 – F#sus2 (Isus2 – IIsus2 – IVsus2 – IIIsus2 in D major). In solfa, that is doh – reh – fah – mi. Practise these 4 changes until they feel natural and you can play most of it.

Good to know: on guitar, Csus2, Esus2, Gsus2, F#sus2 and C#sus2 need a barre or movable shape. Take the change into them slowly at first; piano and ukulele players have it easier.
