How to play All Of Me: key, chords and progression

All Of Me by PIANO: John Legend is in the key of E minor (one sharp: F♯). The song uses 12 chords: Em, C, G, D, Cmaj7, Cadd9, Amadd9, Am, Emadd9, Am/C, C/D and Dadd9.

The backbone of the song is Em – C – G – D (i – VI – III – VII in E minor), the epic minor progression (i–VI–III–VII) used in many anthems. Practise these 4 changes until they feel natural and you can play most of it.

Good to know: Amadd9, Emadd9 and Dadd9 are the tricky part on guitar (barre or movable shapes). Slow the change down until it is clean; on piano and ukulele they are simpler.
