About Lo-fi tool kit
Lo-fi tool kit is a free lo-fi drum kit: one-shot drum sounds such as kicks, snares, hi-hats, 808s and percussion. It downloads as a .zip file from Cymatics-assets.sfo2.cdn.digitaloceanspaces.com, with no sign-up on Yalle Media.
How to download and use it
- Click the download link above (it opens Cymatics-assets.sfo2.cdn.digitaloceanspaces.com) and save the file.
- Unzip it: on Windows right-click → Extract All; on a Mac double-click the file. Move the folder somewhere permanent, like Documents/Samples.
- FL Studio: Options → File settings → add the folder under “Browser extra search folders”; the sounds appear in the Browser.
- Ableton Live: in the Browser, click “Add Folder…” under Places and pick the folder.
- Logic Pro: drag a sound onto a Quick Sampler or Drum Machine Designer pad; drag loops straight onto a track.
Lo-fi production tips
Typical tempo: 70–90 BPM. Lo-fi drums sound best a little behind the beat: add swing, roll off the top end, and layer vinyl noise or tape saturation. Jazzy seventh and ninth chords sit well over these kits.
Can I use these sounds in my songs?
Free packs are usually royalty-free for use in your own beats and songs, but each creator sets their own terms. Read the licence or “read me” file inside the download before releasing music commercially, and never resell or share the sounds as your own pack.
