[Verse 1]
G
Baby, please
A Bm
Don’t leave it up to me
C
Can’t you see
Bm A
It’s getting hard to breathe
G
Look at me
A Bm
I’m tearing at the seams
C
And you can’t see
Bm A
That you’re losing me

[Pre-Chorus 1]
G
And you’re wrapping your arms around me
A Bm
But we’ve both got blades in our hands
C
Watching the flames get higher
Bm A
Everytime I go
G
Walking ourselves through a graveyard
A Bm
Just talking ’bout how the weather’s nice
C
Watching the chains get tighter
Bm A
Everytime you go

[Chorus 1]
G
You love me with a broken heart
Bm
You touch me and I fall apart
Bm A G
And we end up back right where we started from
G
We do all the things we know we should
Bm
‘Cause everything is always good
Bm A G
We push it down in this automatic love

[Verse 2]
G A Bm
Losing sleep and my priorities
C Bm A
Cause I can’t keep all these promises
G A Bm
Watch you bleed out insecurity
C
So you can’t see
Bm A
That you’re hurting me

[Pre-Chorus 2]
G
You won’t say that you’re sorry
A Bm
But we both got blood on our hands
C
Telling ourselves it’s alright
Bm A
But we’re so alone
G
Waiting til we hit the pavement
A Bm
But we’re already black and blue
C
And I’m standing right in front of you
Bm A
But I’m still alone

[Chorus 2]
G
You love me with a broken heart

How to play Automatic Love: key, chords and progression

This is the chords of Automatic Love by Lauren Cimorelli on Piano, Ukulele, Guitar and Keyboard.

Automatic Love by Lauren Cimorelli keeps coming home to B minor (two sharps: F♯, C♯). You need 4 chords: G, A, Bm and C.

The backbone of the song is G – A – Bm – C (VI – VII – i – ♭II in B minor). Practise these 4 changes until they feel natural and you can play most of it.

Good to know: Bm is played as barre or movable shapes on guitar. Practise the change into it slowly; on piano and ukulele the same chords are easier.
