How to play It Isnt Right: key, chords and progression

These are the chords for It Isnt Right by The Platters on Piano, Ukulele, Guitar, and Keyboard

It Isnt Right by The Platters is built around D major (two sharps: F♯, C♯), with 18 chords in all: G, Em, A, A7, D, Dsus2, B, B7, D/F#, E7, E7/B and Gm9/A and 6 more.

The backbone of the song is D – Dsus2 – B – B7 (I – Isus2 – VI – VI7 in D major). In solfa, that is doh – doh – lah – lah. Practise these 4 changes until they feel natural and you can play most of it.

Good to know: B, Gm9/A, F#7, Bm and Bb7 are the tricky part on guitar (barre or movable shapes). Slow the change down until it is clean; on piano and ukulele they are simpler.
