How to play Drug: key, chords and progression

Drug by Simple Creatures is built around D major (two sharps: F♯, C♯), with 5 chords in all: A5, F#5, C#5, G5 and D5.

Listen for F#5 – A5 – C#5 – A5 (III – V – VII – V in D major): the song comes back to it again and again. In solfa, that is mi – soh – te – soh. Once these 4 changes are comfortable, most of the song is done.

Good to know: F#5 and C#5 are the tricky part on guitar (barre or movable shapes). Slow the change down until it is clean; on piano and ukulele they are simpler.
