How to play Lately: key, chords and progression

Lately by Metronomy keeps coming home to C minor (three flats: B♭, E♭, A♭). You need 4 chords: Ab, Cm, Eb and Fm.

The backbone of the song is Ab – Eb – Fm – Cm (VI – III – iv – i in C minor). Practise these 4 changes until they feel natural and you can play most of it.

Easier on guitar: put a capo on the 1st fret and play the shapes G, Bm, D, Em (75% of the chords become easy open shapes, against 0% without a capo). It sounds exactly the same.
