How to play Superhero: key, chords and progression

Superhero by Lauv is in the key of G major (one sharp: F♯). The song uses 5 chords: G, C, Em, D and Bm.

The progression the song keeps returning to is G – C – Em – D (I – IV – vi – V in G major), a pop progression that moves to the vi before resolving through V. In solfa, that is doh – fah – lah – soh. Learn these 4 changes first and most of the song falls into place.

Beginner-friendly: almost every chord is an open chord on guitar, so you can play it without a capo or barre chords.
