How to play Requiem: key, chords and progression
Requiem by Keshi keeps coming home to C major (no sharps or flats). You need 12 chords: Em7, Bb7, D, Am/C, C7, F, Fm, C, Dm7, C7/E, Am and D7.
The backbone of the song is F – Bb7 – C – Dm7 (IV – ♭VII7 – I – ii7 in C major). Practise these 4 changes until they feel natural and you can play most of it.
Good to know: on guitar, Bb7, F and Fm need a barre or movable shape. Take the change into them slowly at first; piano and ukulele players have it easier.
