How to play Upper Room: key, chords and progression

Upper Room by Hillsong Worship is in the key of C major (no sharps or flats). The song uses 8 chords: C, Dm7, Am7, Gsus, FM7, F, G and Fsus2.

Most of the song cycles through C – Dm7 – Am7 – C (I – ii7 – vi7 – I in C major). In solfa, that is doh – reh – lah – doh. Get these 4 changes smooth and the rest comes quickly.

Good to know: F and Fsus2 are the tricky part on guitar (barre or movable shapes). Slow the change down until it is clean; on piano and ukulele they are simpler.
