How to play He Shall Reign: key, chords and progression

He Shall Reign by Hillsong Worship is written in A minor (no sharps or flats) and moves through 11 chords: Am, G/B, Csus4, C, C/E, F, Gsus4, G, F/C, G/C and Em7.

Most of the song cycles through C/E – F – Gsus4 – G (III – VI – VIIsus4 – VII in A minor). Get these 4 changes smooth and the rest comes quickly.

Good to know: on guitar, Csus4, F and F/C need a barre or movable shape. Take the change into them slowly at first; piano and ukulele players have it easier.
