How to play Better Be Home Soon: key, chords and progression

Better Be Home Soon by George Canyon is centred on G major (one sharp: F♯). The song uses 14 chords: Cadd9, C, Cadd11, Asus2, Am, Em7, Em, G, C7, F, Bb and D and 2 more.

The progression the song keeps returning to is C – Cadd9 – C – Asus2 (IV – IVadd9 – IV – IIsus2 in G major). In solfa, that is fah – fah – fah – reh. Learn these 4 changes first and most of the song falls into place.

Good to know: Cadd11, F and Bb are played as barre or movable shapes on guitar. Practise the change into them slowly; on piano and ukulele the same chords are easier.
