How to play Please Dont Walk Away: key, chords and progression

To play Please Dont Walk Away by George Benson, think in G major (one sharp: F♯). It takes 27 chords: Am, Bm7, Cmaj7, B, B7, A7, Am7, A7sus2, D, F#m, Dm7 and G and 15 more.

Listen for Gmaj7 – Dmaj7 – Emadd9 – Esus4 (Imaj7 – Vmaj7 – vi – VIsus4 in G major): the song comes back to it again and again. In solfa, that is doh – soh – lah – lah. Once these 4 changes are comfortable, most of the song is done.

Good to know: Bm7, B, A7sus2, F#m and F are played as barre or movable shapes on guitar. Practise the change into them slowly; on piano and ukulele the same chords are easier.
