How to play Heart And Faith The Darkness Comes: key, chords and progression

Heart And Faith The Darkness Comes by Forest Pooky is built around E major (four sharps: F♯, C♯, G♯, D♯), with 15 chords in all: E, C#sus2, Ab, A, A5, Am, F#m, Bsus2, C#m, E5, E7 and B11 and 3 more.

Most of the song cycles through E – C#sus2 – Ab – A (I – VIsus2 – III – IV in E major). In solfa, that is doh – lah – mi – fah. Get these 4 changes smooth and the rest comes quickly.

Good to know: C#sus2, Ab, F#m, Bsus2 and C#m are played as barre or movable shapes on guitar. Practise the change into them slowly; on piano and ukulele the same chords are easier.
