How to play Strange Beauty: key, chords and progression

Strange Beauty by First Aid Kit is centred on C major (no sharps or flats). The song uses 4 chords: C/G, Em, F/C and F.

The progression the song keeps returning to is C/G – Em – F/C – C/G (I – iii – IV – I in C major). In solfa, that is doh – mi – fah – doh. Learn these 4 changes first and most of the song falls into place.

Good to know: F/C and F are played as barre or movable shapes on guitar. Practise the change into them slowly; on piano and ukulele the same chords are easier.
