How to play Moon River: key, chords and progression

These are Moon River chords by Eric Clapton & Jeff Beck on Piano, Ukulele, Guitar, and Keyboard.

Moon River by Eric Clapton & Jeff Beck is built around G major (one sharp: F♯), with 24 chords in all: C, Am, F, G, Bm, E7, Am7, C7, A#7, B7, Em and D and 12 more.

Listen for G – C – Am – F (I – IV – ii – ♭VII in G major): the song comes back to it again and again. Once these 4 changes are comfortable, most of the song is done.

Good to know: F, Bm, A#7, Fm and Bm7 are played as barre or movable shapes on guitar. Practise the change into them slowly; on piano and ukulele the same chords are easier.
