Easy Life – Calling In Sick Chords on Piano & Ukulele

[Intro]
C B7 Fmaj7 Fmaj7

[Verse 1]
     C
It's seven a.m.
   B7
So maybe it’s time
         Fmaj7 F6
that I leave
     C
This happened again
    B7
Why does this keep
               Fmaj7
 happening to me? (Why's
 this keep happening
         F6
 to me?)
         C
It's the morning commute,
 chock-a-block on the tube
  B7
I got some funny looks
from the boys
in the suits
     Fmaj7
Need something for

my head right now
                F6
Think I need my bed
right now, yeah-yeah,
 yeah-yeah
C
Better call in sick,
got a job I can’t lose
  B7
Rehearsing my perfectly
 scripted excuse
     Fmaj7
Need something for
 my mood right now
                  F6
Don't wanna face no home
                     Fmaj7
truths (Yeah, yeah, yeah)

[Chorus]
           E7
Forever I make the
           Am7
 same mistakes
      Gm
I get up, get out,
     Em
get over it
     A7 Fmaj7
Just give me some space
            E7
Forever I'm always
          G7
running late
                      G7
Will you wait up for me?

[Verse 2]
     C
It's seven a.m.
   B7
So maybe it's time
         Fmaj7 F6
that I dip
     C
This happened again
     B7
Last night is a blur,
           Fmaj7
what a trip (What a trip,
              F6
 what a trip)
C
Tried to make a move,
spilt my drink on my shoes
B7
Didn't get lucky,
some you win,
 some you lose
Fmaj7
Feeling kinda dead
right now
             F6
Hanging by a thread
 right now,
 yeah-yeah, yeah-yeah
C
Felt my face melt,
stood alone in the queue
      B7
I was east feeling west,
 nothing better to do
     Fmaj7
Need something for
 my head right now
Don't wanna face the
 Fm6 Fmaj7
 music (Yeah, yeah, yeah)

Forever I make the
          Am7
same mistakes
      Gm
I get up, get out,
      Em
 get over it
     A7
Just give me some
    Fmaj7
space
            E7
Forever I'm always

running late

Will you wait up for me?

How to play Calling In Sick: key, chords and progression

These are Calling In Sick chords by Easy Life on Piano, Ukulele, Guitar, and Keyboard.

Calling In Sick by Easy Life is built around G major (one sharp: F♯), with 23 chords in all: C, B7, Fmaj7, F6, E7, Am7, Gm, Em, A7, G7, Fm6 and Fm and 11 more.

The progression the song keeps returning to is C – B7 – Fmaj7 – F6 (IV – III7 – ♭VIImaj7 – ♭VII6 in G major). Learn these 4 changes first and most of the song falls into place.

Good to know: on guitar, F6, Gm, Fm6, Fm and A#dim need a barre or movable shape. Take the change into them slowly at first; piano and ukulele players have it easier.
