How to play Dance: key, chords and progression

Dance by DNCE keeps coming home to G major (one sharp: F♯). You need 5 chords: G, Dadd9, C, G7 and Cmaj7.

Listen for C – G – G7 – Cmaj7 (IV – I – I7 – IVmaj7 in G major): the song comes back to it again and again. In solfa, that is fah – doh – doh – fah. Once these 4 changes are comfortable, most of the song is done.

Beginner-friendly: almost every chord here is an open shape on guitar: no capo, no barre chords needed.
