How to play The Real Thing: key, chords and progression

These are the chords for The Real Thing by Dixie on Piano, Ukulele, Guitar, and Keyboard

The Real Thing by Dixie keeps coming home to B♭ major (two flats: B♭, E♭). You need 3 chords: D, Bb and C.

Listen for D – Bb – C – D (III – I – II – III in B♭ major): the song comes back to it again and again. In solfa, that is mi – doh – reh – mi. Once these 4 changes are comfortable, most of the song is done.

Good to know: Bb is the tricky part on guitar (barre or movable shapes). Slow the change down until it is clean; on piano and ukulele it is simpler.
