[Intro]
G Em Em7 (x2)

[Verse 1]
    G
You said at the party
     Em Em7
that I was too drunk
  G
I told you I liked you,
    Em Em7
you said, "Sober up"
    Cmaj7
But why would I lie?
It's so clear, I'm in love
     G Em Em7
With you
  G
A tensed conversation,
    Em Em7
you like someone else
  G
I said, "If I waited,
      Em Em7
could that maybe help?"
    Cmaj7
You told me the patience
won't change
                 G Em Em7
how you felt for me

[Pre-Chorus]
        Cmaj7
So I'll stop being pretentious,
unloathing our friendship
    Em
You taught me a lesson,
that love isn't precious
     G
It's not like the novels, no
Em Em7 Cmaj7
pride and prejudice at all

  in your life
G

You ate at a restaurant,
     Em Em7
they all said we're cute
     G
They think we're a couple,
     Em Em7
they bought us some booze
   Cmaj7
We shared the Moscato and
laughed 'cause it's true
   G Em Em7
To me (Me)
        G
Oh, and I'd be embarrassed
   Em Em7
to find words, so please
    G Em Em7
Let everyone else see what you never see
      Cmaj7
We're perfect together but
                  G Em Em7
I'll never be the one
