How to play Wishing Well: key, chords and progression

To play Wishing Well by cavetown, think in G major (one sharp: F♯). It takes 11 chords: G, D, Am7, C, Bm, Em, B, A7, B7, F#m and Cm.

The progression the song keeps returning to is G – D – Am7 – C (I – V – ii7 – IV in G major). In solfa, that is doh – soh – reh – fah. Learn these 4 changes first and most of the song falls into place.

Good to know: on guitar, Bm, B, F#m and Cm need a barre or movable shape. Take the change into them slowly at first; piano and ukulele players have it easier.
