[Intro]
F G Em

[Verse 1]
              F
I know it's a weeknight
    Am
But it's been a minute
since you hit me with
      G Em
 a reply
                F
Something don't seem right
Am
We used to talk every day,
                    G
now it's once in a while
                 Em
You're once in a while

[Pre-Chorus]
               F
It's funny how every
word I ate, made my
  Am
 stomach ache
               G
Was it all for nothing?
              Em
Must be my mistake
               F
This runaround got me
                 Am
 in a state, overcompensate
               G
I was what you wanted
Now you don't even
 look my way

[Chorus]
                      F
Can't you just let me know?
                   Am
Why you so hot and cold?
                         G
I want to know the reason
You only call me
             Em
on the weekends
Either love me or
        F
 let me go
You say you will,
         Am
 but you don't
                         G
I want to know the reason
You only call me
        Em
on the weekends

[Verse 2]
      F
Yeah, I can see you
                 Am
posting on your page
G
Then you go and ghost,
           Em
wow, that gaze
            F
Maybe we're just
 on different waves

          Am
Maybe the you I knew
 has changed
                G
I don't wanna believe it,
                 Em
 I don't wanna believe it

[Pre-Chorus]
               F
It's funny how every
                     Am

Must be my mistake
               F

 in a state, overcompensate
               G
I was what you wanted
Now you don't even
look my way

[Chorus]
                      F
Can't you just let me know?
                   Am
Why you so hot and cold?
                         G
I want to know the reason
You only call me
              Em
on the weekends
                         F
Either love me or let me go
You say you will,
         Am
 but you don't
                         G
I want to know the reason
You only call me
        Em
 on the weekends

[Bridge]
          F
Where you at tonight?
          Am
Where you at tonight?
   G
Be honest 'bout the reason,
       Em
then I can let it go
          F
Where you at tonight?
          Am
Where you at tonight?
  G
I think I know the
         Em
reason, oh

[Chorus]
                      F
Can't you just let me know?
                   Am
Why you so hot and cold?
                         G
I want to know the reason
You only call me
              Em
on the weekends
                         F
Either love me or let me go

You say you will,
          Am
 but you don't
(Say that you don't)
                         G
I want to know the reason

You only call me on
     Em
the weekends
(Call me on the weekends)

[Outro]
               F
Call me on the weekends
   Am
Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah,
             G
 oh yeah, oh yeah
   Em
Oh yeah, oh yeah,
                      F G
oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah
Em
  Call me on the weekends

How to play Weekends: key, chords and progression

These are Weekends chords by Big Time Rush on Piano, Ukulele, Guitar, and Keyboard.

To play Weekends by Big Time Rush, think in A minor (no sharps or flats). It takes 4 chords: F, G, Em and Am.

Listen for G – Em – F – Am (VII – v – VI – i in A minor): the song comes back to it again and again. Once these 4 changes are comfortable, most of the song is done.

Good to know: F is the tricky part on guitar (barre or movable shapes). Slow the change down until it is clean; on piano and ukulele it is simpler.
