[Verse 1]
Em
Fade - from all that was
       C Am
 before we shut another door
    C D
But not a last goodbye
Em C
Fate - has taken once again,
                     Am
 a fight we'll never win
    C D
And time again we try
B Em
Left alone I can't wait
           C B7
 too long, fade
Em
Love - we loved
         C
 so many times
                Am
And in so many lives
 C
sometimes
           D
 we got it right
Em
Pain - It found its
          C
 way back in
              Am C
Until we meet again into
           D
that good night
B Em
None too far as we chase
 through
                   C
the stars beyond forever
B7
I'll follow you

[Verse 2]

E Abm
Dancing in the wind as
          A
 roses born again
                  E
There you'll find me
                   Abm
Before the dawn of man
                    A
in castles made of sand
                  E
There you'll find me
               Abm
Writing in the caves
                    A
as fire lights the way
                  E
There you'll find me
              Abm
Mask of royal glow don
              A
 in pharaoh's clothes
                  E
There you'll find me
       Abm A E
Let it go
                  Abm
Rings of dust and ice
                   A
weightless in the night
                  E
There you'll find me
       Abm A E
Let it go

[Outro]
E Abm
Dancing in the wind
               A
as roses born again
                  E
There you'll find me
                   Abm
Before the dawn of man in
                 A
 castles made of sand
                  E
There you'll find me
               Abm
Writing in the caves
                    A
as fire lights the way

How to play Cosmic: key, chords and progression

These are Cosmic chords by Avenged Sevenfold on Piano, Ukulele, Guitar, and Keyboard.

Cosmic by Avenged Sevenfold is centred on E major (four sharps: F♯, C♯, G♯, D♯). The song uses 9 chords: Em, C, Am, D, B, B7, E, Abm and A.

Listen for E – Abm – A – E (I – iii – IV – I in E major): the song comes back to it again and again. In solfa, that is doh – mi – fah – doh. Once these 4 changes are comfortable, most of the song is done.

Good to know: on guitar, B and Abm need a barre or movable shape. Take the change into them slowly at first; piano and ukulele players have it easier.
