[Intro]
Stop! Using your
 words as weapons

[Verse 1]
Em D
 I swear this town's a battlefield
G/B C
 Can make you feel strong
and vulnerable
Em
 These empty hearts are
  D
made of steel
G/B
 But underneath they're
  C
not invincible
Em D
 We're nothing but some stardust
 and molecules
G/B C
 Trying to find the light
in the darkest rooms
Em D
 So no matter what
             G C
you say to me, oh I

[Pre-Chorus]
       Em
Got a bulletproof
vest under my dress
D
 Packed bags under my bed
G
 The biggest hearts
                  C
are the biggest targets
It's thе hardest, so

[Chorus]
C G D
Stop! Using your words as weapons
         Em
They'rе never gonna shoot me down
C G
 Stop! It's time that
                 D B/D#
you learn a lesson
    Em Am
My love is gonna drown you out
                         G
You wanna fight, do you wanna dance?
          D
'Cause tonight might be
     Em
the only chance, so
C G
 Stop! Using your words
        D B/D#
as weapons
  Em
Whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh

[Verse 2]
Don't see the blood,
        D
 don't see the tears
G/B C
 You only taste what I
put on my feet
Em D
 You see the smoke before
it clears
G/B
 So let me show you
       C
what's underneath

How to play Weapons: key, chords and progression

These are Weapons chords by Ava Max on Piano, Ukulele, Guitar, and Keyboard.

Weapons by Ava Max sits in E minor (one sharp: F♯), and you need 7 chords to play it: Em, D, G/B, C, G, B/D# and Am.

Listen for G – D – Em – C (III – VII – i – VI in E minor): the song comes back to it again and again. Once these 4 changes are comfortable, most of the song is done.

Beginner-friendly: on guitar almost every chord is an open shape, which makes this a good song to learn early on.
