How to play Plaza Avenue: key, chords and progression

Plaza Avenue by Ardhito Pramono is centred on E minor (one sharp: F♯). The song uses 17 chords: C#m7, F#m, Bm7, Bbm7, Am7, DM7, Gm, CM7, F, Em, A and G and 5 more.

The progression the song keeps returning to is Gm – CM7 – F#m – F (iii – VImaj7 – ii – ♭II in E minor). Learn these 4 changes first and most of the song falls into place.

Good to know: C#m7, F#m, Bm7, Bbm7 and Gm are played as barre or movable shapes on guitar. Practise the change into them slowly; on piano and ukulele the same chords are easier.
