How to play Ready: key, chords and progression

Ready by Alessia Cara is built around C major (no sharps or flats), with 6 chords in all: C, Am, Em, F, G and Dm.

The progression the song keeps returning to is C – Am – Em – G (I – vi – iii – V in C major). In solfa, that is doh – lah – mi – soh. Learn these 4 changes first and most of the song falls into place.

Beginner-friendly: almost every chord is an open chord on guitar, so you can play it without a capo or barre chords.
