How to play Older: key, chords and progression

Older by Alec Benjamin keeps coming home to D major (two sharps: F♯, C♯). You need 3 chords: D, A and Bm.

The backbone of the song is D – A – Bm – D (I – V – vi – I in D major). In solfa, that is doh – soh – lah – doh. Practise these 4 changes until they feel natural and you can play most of it.

Easier on guitar: put a capo on the 2nd fret and play the shapes C, G, Am (100% of the chords become easy open shapes, against 67% without a capo). It sounds exactly the same.
