How to play Role Models: key, chords and progression

Role Models by AJR sits in G major (one sharp: F♯), and you need 7 chords to play it: Am7, D, Gmaj7, Cmaj7, Bm7, G and Ddim7.

Most of the song cycles through Am7 – D – Gmaj7 – Cmaj7 (ii7 – V – Imaj7 – IVmaj7 in G major). In solfa, that is reh – soh – doh – fah. Get these 4 changes smooth and the rest comes quickly.

Good to know: Bm7 and Ddim7 are the tricky part on guitar (barre or movable shapes). Slow the change down until it is clean; on piano and ukulele they are simpler.
