How to play Bang: key, chords and progression

Bang by AJR is centred on C♯ minor (four sharps: F♯, C♯, G♯, D♯). The song uses 4 chords: C#m, A, B and E.

The progression the song keeps returning to is B – C#m – B – E (VII – i – VII – III in C♯ minor). Learn these 4 changes first and most of the song falls into place.

Easier on guitar: put a capo on the 2nd fret and play the shapes Bm, G, A, D (75% of the chords become easy open shapes, against 50% without a capo). It sounds exactly the same.
