This is the Ukulele chords of Reasons by Luke Combs.

[Verse 1]
G C Dmaj9
I don’t know why you can’t buy wine ’round here on Sunday
G C Dmaj9
Or an ice-cold beer at a college football game
G C Dmaj9
I don’t know why at eighteen, mama gave me a curfew
G C Dmaj9
But it was, “Son, you’re under my roof, then you’re under my rules”

[Pre-Chorus]
Am G/B C
I guess it’s all a part of a bigger plan
Am G/B C
But some of them I’ll never understand

[Chorus]
G C D
But they got their reasons, just like you
G C D
When you walked out of my life when you didn’t have to
G C D
You send me reelin’, there’s nothin’ I can do
G C D
About you takin’ my heart and breakin’ it right in two
Am G/B C C G/B
So if you see me soakin’ in these thoughts I’m thinkin’
Am G/B C
Drownin’ in some barroom off the deep end
G
I got my reasons

[Verse 2]
G C Dmaj9
I don’t know why them uptown guys sittin’ three seats from me
G C Dmaj9
Are raisin’ ’em up just as fast as they can put ’em down
G C Dmaj9
Or why that old timer wants the Yankees on the TV
G C Dmaj9
And the barkeep keeps buyin’ that one girl free rounds

[Bridge]
Am G/B
Some are good and some are bad
C G/B
Some are true and some are sad
Am G/B C
Everyone’s got some but I need one
D
That brings you back

[Chorus]
G C D
We all got our reasons, just like you
G C D
When you walked out of my life and you didn’t have to

[Outro]
G C D
Woah, I got my reasons
G C D
Yeah, I got my reasons

How to play Reasons: key, chords and progression

Reasons by Luke Combs is in the key of G major (one sharp: F♯). The song uses 6 chords: G, C, Dmaj9, Am, G/B and D.

The progression the song keeps returning to is C – D – G – C (IV – V – I – IV in G major). In solfa, that is fah – soh – doh – fah. Learn these 4 changes first and most of the song falls into place.

Beginner-friendly: almost every chord is an open chord on guitar, so you can play it without a capo or barre chords.
